A little bit about the founder of Kids’n’Things. I am married 30 years (time flies when you’re having fun!!) and I have four children who are now all in their 20’s – 3 sons and a daughter.

I am also the owner of a childcare service called ‘Little Smarties” in Terenure, Dublin. This is my 14th year in business!!

Incredible demands on parents to “tick all the boxes”

Kids’n’Things has been borne from my first-hand experience of being a Mum myself and also working and chatting with parents on a daily basis. There are incredible demands on parents to “tick all the boxes” between childcare needs, to extra-curricular activities, sports, mental health, additional needs and general holistic development for children.

Over the years, I have also met many parents who run amazing small businesses in the local area that cater for a wide variety of children’s needs. However, these businesses may not always get the exposure they should because they are bypassed by the popular search engines and Google analytics.

If I had a euro for every time I was asked “do you know where I could find x, y or z?” I would be enjoying early retirement!! I realised that there is a real need to connect communities and support smaller childcare businesses and of course buy Irish!!

A childcare network at your fingertips

My hope is that Kids’n’Things will create an osmosis type effect in the coming months and years to create a network at your fingertips to connect with your community, for your childcare needs in an efficient and effective manner.

I am so excited to launch Kids n Things and hope that it will make your life a little bit easier and save you your precious time by connecting you with services, businesses and product providers for your childcare needs.
